Need to beat the heat? The Marshfield Council on Aging and public library are serving as cooling centers for Marshfield residents this summer, according to the town’s emergency management director, police Lieutenant Paul Taber. Residents of other communities can find their local cooling centers by calling the state health and human services information line. Dial 211, select a language, and then press the options for “all other calls.” In Marshfield, the cooling centers will be open during their regular business hours, but the town may decide to keep the Council on Aging open until 10 p.m. If a heat wave becomes severe, Taber said. For more information, call the Council on Aging at 781 834-5581 or Ventress Memorial Library at 781 834-5535.
